    I popped to Tennessee to visit and it rained -result, instant flooding. The water went down almost as fast as it had risen.

    Smudge and I; and the lovely pumpkins outside Whole Foods. Smudge is wearing his 'going out' harness, which is great for round town ...with his small head, he can slip the collar if he gets a fright. The harness seemed a better solution to unexpected noises ...like the jack hammer that started up right beside us one day (from behind a sheet of plywood, so we couldn't see it!)

    A few minor changes to the front cover for An Ounce Of Prevention
    I revised the draft cover for my latest novel this week. 70,000 words written so far and it's (still) rolling along nicely. (latest update, November 2nd)

    I put out a feeder for the hummingbirds that stay over winter. Now I have to stop watching them and do some work!

    I am seriously considering 'outside' editing for either 'A Good Read' or 'Collecting Thoughts' ...but it is hard to justify the expense while I am still giving away books for free.

    Post-coffee, I began Labor Day with the task of in-fill planting my balcony planters. The petunias are starting to suffer from powdery mildew and it was time for some fresh planting ...so I found a lovely nursery near the botanical gardens yesterday and bought some violas and polystichum ferns to fill up the gaps.
